Cookies and browser storage

No tracking. Just the essentials.

We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. What we store has a purpose: supporting sign-in and remembering the choices you make about how the site looks and moves.

When you sign in

We use cookies to support your session and authentication. They aren't used to build an advertising profile.

  • Sign-in session (rn_session) keeps you signed in. It expires at the end of the configured sign-in period, which is no longer than 24 hours, or is removed when you sign out.
  • Portal navigation (rn_ui) lets the navigation show “Portal” instead of “Sign in”. It isn't a sign-in credential and has the same lifetime as your session cookie.
  • Passkey check (rn_wa) temporarily holds a challenge when you register or sign in with a passkey. It expires after five minutes or is removed when the verification step runs.

Your preferences, remembered in your browser

Two choices are saved in your browser's local storage. Neither is a cookie and neither is sent to us.

  • Theme (rn-theme): light or dark, when you choose one with the toggle in the header.
  • Motion (rn-motion): set when you press “Pause motion” in the footer, so animations stay paused on your next visit.

They have no automatic expiry. They stay until you change them, clear this site's browser data, or your browser removes them.

The anti-bot check

The contact form and the sign-in link request run a small proof-of-work check in your browser before sending. It uses no cookies, stores nothing, and sends nothing about you to a third party; it exists so that automated scripts cannot flood us or strangers with messages.

You're in control

You can block cookies or clear this site's stored data through your browser settings. Blocking sign-in cookies will prevent you from staying signed in. Clearing your preferences returns the site to your device's light or dark setting with motion on.

For how we handle personal information, read the privacy notice.
